Things to remember

Overall I think we did a good job on our short film, but next time we would have to remember that, always make sure everyone can get to the location on the day, and that the location is suitable and the lighting is right. And also bring all equipment eg: Tripod!.

Editing

After all of our filming, we then started to edit our short films, when we started editing once again we found a few more issues! Where we didnt have the tripod to film, some parts were a bit shaky, also a part of the film the girl would walk out of the room to get a drink, the camera will then focus on the computer screen where an image/video of her pops up. And then when she walks back into the room the image/video would dissapear. But the time we came to editing we put the 'CCTV' video footage onto the computer screen and we had to track all of the small movements and match them upto the original video because it was all shaky because we hand held the camera because we did not have a tripod.
Our film is also quiet and we only had about 2-3 words in the script where she would talk to her self really. Also the facebook chat sounds I downloaded it off the internet and then went on soundtrack pro to edit it. After that I then put it into my film, so that would make it sound more realistic.

Filming

We then went to our location and filmed. But we had a few more problems...Our director of photography could not get to our location because he could not get a lift and because of the buses and equpiment he had to carry down. So in the end we decided to film without him. But again we had another problem we had the camera, lights, the actress and all of our props..BUT we did'nt have a tripod!! because the director of photography had it with him. So in the end we had to film without a tripod and make do with what we have got.

The filming went well and we had all the scenes we needed!

But another problem we had again with filming was in the script it said it was set at night time in a city..but because it was summer and it did'nt go dark for a while we had to change parts of the script also we could not find a city for it to be filmed in. So we changed the script to day time, and that it was set in a quiet house where when she looks out of the window it will just be a backgarden and not a busy city.
We started filming at 7pm but then when it came to 9pm/10pm it started to get dark so we had to switch the bedroom light on then to make it look lighter because that was what we wanted.

next..

Then I started to look through the script and started to write down what props we need...
We needed:

  • A desk
  • Laptop
  • CCTV camera
  • Mug of cocoa
  • A Bag
  • Mirror
The location, really we just needed a bedroom look alike with a big window.

We have got a laptop for the scene and also we have slightly changed the script, because we have not got a desk, so we took that part out of the script.

We have found a Fake CCTV Camera on Amazon which is suitable for our needs, it cost us £5 which was the cheapest, so we have ordered it of-line and we are now waiting for it to be delivered.

The mug of cocoa, we can easily get because we are filming in a house so we can just get a mug from the kitchen.

A bag we can also easily get and a mirror is already in the location we are going to film.

Finally!

The Fake CCTV Camera we have ordered off Amazon has finally been delivered (yay) we are also sharing the CCTV Camera with another group because they are doing the same script as us.

issues..

We did have some issues with our film. We had regular meetings with our groups but we set dates for people to bring stuff in, but our director didnt bring in them on the dates. We also ordered a fake CCTV camera of Amazon, and we are still waiting for it to be deliverd.
